Mukilteo High Gloss Kitchen

Here are is a photo of a Contemporary kitchen we just finished.  This is a really exciting addition to our portfolio.  It is our first in this style of kitchen and we had a lot of fun with it.  We really enjoy working creatively and expanding our horizons.  On this job, we did just that.

We designed, built, finished (painted, glossed, and buffed...and buffed, and buffed), and installed the cabinetry in this kitchen  There are many custom custom features.  For example the garbage base unit and the long rectangular upper are electrically assisted with the touch of a button (Blum Servo Drive Technology).  Many of the drawers feature Blum Orgaline Systems for Organization: the sink base drawers wrap around the plumbing, the drawers have stainless steel organizers and dividers for utensils, pots and pans, odds and ends, you name it.  The island has access from the front and the back.  The access shown in the photo above is on a Bortolucci Slider.  The doors sit flush side by side at resting position and then either can pop out to bipass the other.  They open and close on soft-close technology.

Dodges on Houzz.com

Dodges has created a portfolio on Houzz.com: http://www.houzz.com/pro/dodgescc/dodges-classic-carpentry-co.  We have posted three of our recent projects.  Pretty exciting to have our work on this site for people to add to their ideabooks.  I chose these three projects for my first trip out with a professional photographer to highlight our versatility in both design, style, and finish work.  One is a high gloss contemporary design, the other two more classic designs; one is painted and one is stained.

Dodges Classic Carpentry has a Pro Profile on Houzz.com:

http://www.houzz.com/pro/dodgescc/__public

Houzz.com is an excellent online resource for building projects.  We created a profile on this site to add our library of photos for people to find inspiration for their projects.  Anyone can get on the site, search for a pro in their area (worldwide) or an idea, for example, Fiddleback Maple cabinets, or a product, for example, undercabinet strip outlets or shiny backsplash tile, or design ideas for a room, for example, open concept living room or shared bedroom, and the search will produce a myriad of photos for ones inspiration.

If you have not yet seen it and you are looking for inspiration or answers to your questions about a project, check it out.  Give yourself time, it is FULL of ideas.

Please also look at our up to date profile for examples of our work.  I have recently added photos of custom cabinet projects in Ballard, Blue Ridge, Seattle, Everett, Mukilteo, Camano Island, and Snohomish.

Timber Frame Bench

Timber Frame Bench

Mike is a very talented woodworker and is excited to work on cabinetry projects to the 16th of and inch AND woodworking projects with large hand tools that create big curls of wood.

Recently, we were asked to build a bench for a retiring Professor for the University of Washington.  After decades of dedication to his field his collegues wanted to gift him something that he could enjoy every day for years and years to come, something, functional and beautiful, natural and creative.  Enter Dodges Classic Carpentry.

Their request was for an outdoor bench for two and the inspiration included pictures of the professor in front of some of his most signature web-like conceptual diagrams on a large chalkboard.

Mike took this opportunity to create a one of a kind timber frame bench that held itself with Mortise and Tendon Joinery.  The gift was very well received.  Check it out.
